Pierre Poilievre visits University-Rosedale

On the beautiful, warm, evening of Wednesday, October 10 at the home of John and Nancy McFadyen, about fifty Conservative friends and supporters gathered outside to hear enlightened and spirited remarks from Pierre Poilievre, Shadow Minister of Finance.

Introduced by John Baird, former Conservative cabinet minister at both the provincial and federal levels, Mr. Poilievre ably critiqued the current fiscal, small business taxation and trade policies enacted by the present government and persuasively advocated how a Conservative federal government could improve upon them for the benefit of all Canadians.

An excellent question and answer period followed. Many thanks to the McFadyens and to our Financial Agent Philip Dyke for their time and effort!

Our 2018 Annual General Meeting

Many thanks to the members who attended our AGM this year. It was a fun evening meeting at the Miles Nadal JCC, and our thanks to the many EDA Board members who helped organize the event.

We’ve got a new Board of Directors, and Keith Tuomi will continue to lead the Board as President.

We got an update from Keith about the Policy Convention in Halifax, and financial and membership updates as well.  But the most fun part of the evening was the participation of the members in a lively discussion about current political issues.  We enjoyed the input from all those who participated.

The EDA is also actively currently engaged in the process of looking for a candidate to run for the Conservative Party of Canada in the coming election.  If you have an interest, or might suggest someone how does, please contact us and let us know!
